Inclusion for Youth with Special Needs

Inclusion means providing support to individuals with disabilities who want to participate in Community Education programs. A successful experience involves several steps. To ensure a positive experience and the accommodation of individual needs, call South Washington County Schools Community Education Coordinators at least two weeks before the program starts:

Inclusion for Adults with Special Needs

If you need a sign language interpreter, note taker or other accommodations to participate in South Washington County Schools Community Education classes for adults, call Gretchen Carlson at 651-425-6605 or email her at gcarlson@sowashco.org at least 10 business days before the class.

Adult Basic Education

South Washington County Community Education offers opportunities for adult learners who wish to improve their basic education skills in partnership Hastings school district. This collaborative, Great Rivers Adult Education Consortium, offers a variety of programs including:

  • English as a Second Language
  • Alternative Diploma Programs for students both under 21 and over the age of 20
  • GED (General Education Development) exam
  • Basic Skills Program (reading, math, writing)
